Cairns
- Known as the capital of adventure in Far North Queensland, Cairns is an easy drive to two UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest
- Travel along the Great Barrier Reef Drive, from Cairns to Cape Tribulation, rated as one of the most beautiful drives in Australia
- Visit the Yarrabah Aboriginal community to learn about indigenous ways of life and what we can learn about sustainability and caring for country
- Take a guided urban day hike to explore progressive sustainability of the built environment, including the Cairns Botanic Gardens and Mount Whitfield Conservation Park
Great Barrier Reef
- The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Area
- Stay at the coastal town of Port Douglas, where Rainforest Meets Reef, in Far Northeast Queensland, your departure for day trips to the reef
- Encounter a vast array of corals, fishes, green turtles, and most likely reef sharks (and maybe even a minke whale) in the tropical waters and reefs. Learn about the animals and diversity of the reef through daily snorkels and reef walks, as well as management of the GBR
- Participate in Reef Check, a worldwide citizen science project
- Optional scuba diving (and Discover Dive) available through the boat charter
Outback
- Spend three nights with an Aussie family in an outback farmstay and learn about how humans have lived in this fertile region on the edge of the outback
- Greet kangaroos up, close, and personal, as well as many other Australian wildlife, on the farmstays
- Engage in a Caring for Country project to learn about indigenous worldviews and approaches to sustainability
- Learn from a National Park Ranger about the natural and cultural history of Chillagoe-Munagana Caves National Park and study the southern sky at night (naked eye and telescopes) at the Chillagoe Observatory
Rainforest
- Take a tree canopy walk at the Daintree Discovery Center to learn about the natural diversity of life in some of the oldest forests in the world
- Stay at On the Wallaby eco-lodge on the Atherton Tablelands

Brisbane
- Learn about sustainability efforts in Australia’s third most populous city, Brisbane
- Get up close with Australia’s iconic wildlife including kangaroos, koalas, and Tasmanian devils, with an educational tour of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
- We’ll visit some of Brisbane’s notable landmarks including South Bank, Queensland Art Gallery, and the Queensland Museum with their innovate Reconciliation Action Plan
